“When you disappoint someone you try to avoid them. Now, when you sin who have you disappointed? You’ve disappointed God. Satan comes to you and tells you what should you do? Avoid Him. The natural instinct of a human-being is when they disappoint someone to avoid them.”—Nouman Ali Khan (via chronic-illness-)
“Do not look at a man’s prayers nor his fasts,
rather, measure him by how well he deals with others,
the compassion he shows his fellow man,
his wisdom and his integrity.”—Umar ibn al Khattab (radhi’alla anhu)
True story I wanted to share: My friend’s aunt is blind & only has her son to take care of her. Allah willed for her son to die in a car accident. A person told the mother of this news & she said what means alhamdulilah Allah took what belongs to Him & she regained her sight. Masha’Allah, whether you believe this or not, take this woman as an example & mention Allah when you have a hardship.
Ironic, but one of the most intimate acts of our body is death. So beautiful appeared my death—knowing who then I would kiss, I died a thousand times before I died. “Die before you die,” said the Prophet Muhammad. Have wings that feared ever touched the Sun? I was born when all I once feared—I could love.
“Be more conscious of your Character compared to your Reputation. Your Character is what you actually are, whilst your Reputation is merely what others perceive you to be. And Allah looks at your Character, not your Reputation.”—A Servant of Allah. (via mussalman)
“Live as long as you want, but you must die; love whatever you want, but you will become separated from it; and do what you want, but you will be repaid for it.”—Imam al Ghazali (via munirah-alidros) (via ladyofarcadia)

“Glory is to Him Whom thunder and angels glorify due to fear of Him.”
[Whenever Abdullaah bin Zubair radhiyaAllaahu anhu would hear thunder, he would abandon all conversation and say this supplication. See al Muwatta 2/992. It was graded authentic by Al-Albani as a statement of Abdullaah bin Zubair only.
