“Every day the sun rises it calls upon us, O people! I am a new day; I am an observer of your actions. Take advantage of me for I will not return until the Day of Judgment. O son of Adam, you are nothing but a few breaths. Once one breath goes out, part of you goes with it. In the same way that part of you has gone, soon all of you will go.”—Hasan Al-Basri (via muhammadnoor)
said, “I saw during my night journey some men whose lips were being clipped with clippers of fire. I said, ‘Who are these people, Jibreel?’ He replied, ‘These are the people from your followers who gave sermons commanding the people with righteousness, yet forgetting to practice it themselves”.”—Sharh us-Sunnah, al-Bayhaqee in Ash-Shu’ab, ibn Abee ad-Dunyaa and others (via muhammadnoor)
The Prophet, pbuh, said: "Allah records good and bad deeds (in this way): If anyone intends to do a good deed, but does not do it, Allah still records it with Him as one full good deed. If he intends to do a good deed and then carries it out, Allah records it with Him as ten to seven hundred times in reward or even increases it many times over. If anyone intends to do a bad deed but does not actually do it, Allah records it with Him as one full good deed. If he intends to do a bad deed and does it, Allah records it against him as (only) one bad deed.
“If all the tears collected of this Ummah were put together, we could offer clean water for millions. Don’t cry and die – cry and work, cry and pray, cry and succeed, for indeed the Gardens of Truth are for the predators and ones who use their tears as fuel to change. Heaven was not made for those who merely believe, but for those who work. So work and Allah (swt) knows best).”
